I got the 2019 version on Black Friday last year and its pretty good. I like the battery life. My niece watches YouTube videos on it and plays games and the battery usually last all day.

As a medical student, the 10.1 is better for reading and writing notes. But I'd still choose the 8.4 because it's LESS awkward for phone calls.

How much ram on the Tab A 10.1 you tested?
I believe both devices have the same processor, and the 8.4 has 3 GB ram.
Have you updated the 10.1 to Android 10? Any performance glitches after update?

i am just telling but the 8inch tab is better and comes more cheap in price so its really better than 10 inch and i took the 8 inch tab for my studies this year and it was so well, so you can also buy 8 inch tab.there is no diffrence its totally same accept size and i just came here too watch videos of this channel because it feels good to videos of this channel

the speaker of the tab a 10.1 is better, you have to turn on Dolby Atmos to get a better audio experience

I have the Tab A and for the past few weeks it has been powering down by itself and in the past week it is worse as soon as the screen goes off the whole thing shuts down and i have to turn it back on again. Has anyone had this issue and how did you fix it? I tried asking samsung and they told me i have to take it to be fixed, i was just wondering if there is an option to do it myself. I tried a factory reset but it did nothing, cleared the cache and also did nothing. Also the tablet is about 3 years old in good condition.
