It’s not often that young people’s opinions about what is happening in the public square, and their ideas for solutions to these issues, are platformed and celebrated. But here, we have a hopeful look at what real debate can look like, an antidote to polarization and the disintegration of civil discourse. In a national championship run by Incubate Debate, the U.S.’s fastest-growing middle school and high school debate league, middle school and high school students from 180 schools across Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia gathered in Jacksonville, FL to participate in two days of vigorous debates ranging from climate change to Donald Trump’s role on January 6th. Ten distinguished judges from across the ideological spectrum deliberated which debater made their points in each debate, including Open to Debate CEO Clea Conner, former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Chief Program Officer of the Bill of Rights Institute Stan Smith.

Join us as we follow eight students during the final rounds of Incubate Debate who debate the following questions: “Should College DEI Programs Be Abolished?” and “Is Climate Change An Emergency?”

I really enjoyed this! It's so refreshing and a great reminder that even kids can debate respectfully on heated topics (even more than some adult debaters). I honestly could've listened another 2 hours of their back-and-forth! 😅

_The technology your peoples possess at this time is capable of resolving each and every limitation which plagues your social memory complex at this present nexus of experience._

_However, the concerns of some of your beings with distortions towards what you would call powerful energy cause these solutions to be withheld until the solutions are so needed that those with the distortion can then become further distorted in the direction of power._

Using emotion to convince is not good. We have changed our ways. We've spent billions. These kids obviously dont pay their own bills and havent earned sn income that is being stollen based on lies.

DEI would absolutely hire the black boy on the left (lots of gibberish but no good point, just typical DEI is a good fair equal oh plus it has some drawbacks 😂) still not conceding its major weaknesses. The black girl on the left on the other hand has a clear mind, wow, her arguments are sharp as a knife. The stoic guy at the center, liked his short but concise points, exactly why we are not focusing on the socioeconomic status, instead on stupid race things dividing the country.
Thank you for this debate, great one 👍

If any of you guys come to youtube to see your own debate... there are many reasons to disagree with the values of DEI. And with none of you holding that position, this was not a real debate.
It was a joke.

I was wondering how a young person would risk their future by opposing DEI publicly, and it turns out none of you did. Of course haha
