Growing up in Europe I remember watching the TV adaptation of Don Camillo's "bumps" with the communist force of nature that was Peppone. Charming series, particularly the moments in which he was all alone in his church and received rather unique teachings of kindness and humility from the crucifix.

I love to watch Steve loving his books! :D So there is a biography about biographies about Shakespeare. Ok... I bet Steve is the only one in booktube who has that. ;)

I absolutely love Act One. I read a library-copy almost 40 years ago and I still remember that it had me laughing out loud. I just bought myself a new copy and will revisit it soon. I hope I enjoy it as much as I did way back when.

I'm reading Hero of the Empire now. I'm on chapter 8. It's fascinating. I now have a lot of respect for Candice Millard's story-telling skills.

I have the Last Lion,   I got  brand new copy of it at the library for 50 believe I found that.  I have been hearing a lot about "Master and commander"  from your channel.  And  I was hearing about it on the "The Reading Rhodes channel as well.   I might check out.  Good haul :)

A book haul that doesn't involve Brattle... Scandalous! I'd love to hear where else you go in Boston. Mrs Jack is something I have to pick up! I was reading a lot of Boston history when I first moved here, and would like to get back into it. The Last Lion also sounds good. I've dabbled with a few different histories surrounding Churchill but haven't been impressed with any of them.

I got "Ruth" by Elizabeth Gaskell It is a Penguin Classic. Do you have that one? It is a beautiful cover. I love my Jack Aubrey novels. I love to look for books too wherever I go so I guess I have the disease too.
