AMENDNENTS OR CORRECTIONS: I have been informed by a helpful viewer, that the collection video with the glass fish and danio species found in myanmar, may actually be Tamilnadu in India... I'll let you know if I can find more info, but the fish and habitat are still very similar or identical regardless. Thanks! -Alex

Hey, that's my country. Been to that lake many times. Thanks for covering it!

Was nice to learn more about this lake from my country. Thanks for mentioning a bit about the civil war and stuff, too.

Hi Alex, I enjoyed your deep dive into the ichthyology, geography and cultures of Lake Inle. Thumbs up for more content such as this. Many Thanks, Dan

Fantastic deep dive Alex! I always enjoy the anthropological, historical, and cultural elements you put into your episodes. I wish more YouTubers would give the whole picture as you do. I'm an old school, nerdy Genxer and I feel its so important to understand the environments our beloved pets originated from whether they have gills, scales, feathers, or fur. 😊

I love these deep dives. It's always so interesting to me how the natives live and what the lakes actually look like.

I had no idea they were in a civil war, or how long they've been pushed into other people's conflicts.

Many of my favorite fish come from this area. It was really interesting to me that all the fish have red and yellow on them, and how clear the lake is.
👍❤👍

Very good video. Glad you added about the people. I only knew of the civil war. Shamefully knew more about their tiny fish than their ways of living.

Awesome I breed Plakat in Thailand but you inspire me to look closer to other nano species.

I don’t comment much, or even “like” a lot of videos. I feel like this was an exceptional, enjoyable deep dive and I gave you a thumbs up. Cool video, I hope you are able to do more like this in the future!

As an aside, I found CPDs in 2016 and have had a 20L in the bedroom dedicated to them since. They live with a bunch of RCS and are beautiful fish, even though they are pretty skittish.

Wow, well researched informative video, a real pleasure to see this tonight. Easy to understand why it's your favorite biotope. I have a tank of those auropurpureus but didn't know a thing about them now I do thanks. Found them in local aquarium shop here in Chiangmai where I live. They are reproducing without any effort on my part, always active and beautiful. The lake isn't that far from me actually and would consider a visit if travel wasn't the way it is currently. Maybe hopefully in the future and not too distant. Lots of Shan people live here in the Chiangmai area, hard working, honest, attractive, fiercely independent and just want to keep their identity and ancestral homeland. Anyway, love the video, thanks.

Very interesting area. I wonder who first thought, "I bet I can make a garden on the water."

The aeroponic gardening topic is fascinating. It’s very difficult to get the nutrition density for the fruits etc in this method compared to soil but the yields can be much greater.
