Diversity Array technology for association mapping in wheat
Показать описание
The most important goal of plant breeding and genetics today is to determine the genetic architecture of complex traits that are economically important. Though this has been accomplished to an extent by traditional linkage and QTL mapping, the focus today has shifted
to association mapping because of the higher resolution and the lesser time advantages that it offers. Genotyping in association mapping by SSR's and AFLP's have few problems associated with them which has led to the use of a high throughput whole genome profiling technology called Diversity arrays Technology or DArT genotyping.
This video focuses on the potential of using the DArT technology for association mapping in a complex polyploid genome like wheat. First, it gives an overview of the DArT technology highlighting the steps and then describes its application for the association mapping in wheat. Besides, it also illustrates examples from scientific research where this technology has been applied.
