Official Ampere Specs Leak - 2nd Ray Tracing | Sony Confirms Exclusives To come To PC

AMD's radeon RX 5300 graphics card has been revealed, and it's essentially an RX 5500 XT (with even the same number of CUs) but with a 96-bit memory bus, instead of 128bit. This naturally means that bandwidth is reduced 25 percent, but also that the RX 5300 will only ship with 3GB of RAM. The card also operates at a much lower clock frequency, but still requires a power connector because it eats 100W of power.

Nvidia's RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 official packaging confirms that we're looking at Ampere supporting second generation hardware based ray tracing. This is rumored to offer a sizeable performance increase over the first generation. Ampere's specs for the 3080 and 3090 are also confirmed, with the next generation geforce cards seemingly quite the monster. The only question is how these cards will compare against AMD's next generation affairs. Ampere will need to wait for a few months to go up against RDNA 2, as AMD is apparently going to launch the RX 6000 series later this year.

Sony has confirmed to investors that they're going to be bringing more exclusive playstation titles to the PC. SIE aims to achieve robust revenue growth by
accelerating the virtuous cycle that has been established
for the PlayStation Platform. This entails increasing
active users and play time, enhancing network services
and reinforcing content IP so that consumers select
PlayStation as their platform of choice. Targeted
outcomes include growth in active users, stronger
retention and a shorter cash conversion cycle, from
which expanded cash flow can be expected. We will
explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform,
in order to promote further growth in our profitability.

Happy times if top tier GPU costs "only" $1200??? WTH am I missing? I payed $500 for HD 7970, $650 for GTX 980 Ti (+77% over HD 7970) and 700$ for 1080TI (67% more performance than 980TI) and 3 years later I should be happy if I can pay "just" 1, 2 grand for top tier GPU offering cca +70-80% performance increase over 1080TI? Are U out of your mind, where's the value in that??? For that kind of money 3090 should be at least 120% faster in rasterization than 1080TI to even consider it.

I'm sure the sound quality on these videos gets worse with every release.

I wait for RDNA 2 and then I will look what to buy... Still have 1080ti so I will be good for Cyberpunk 2077 anyway :-)

Ahh I remember those
Radeon 9700 Pro, promising Doom 3 above 30fps (remember when that was the PC standard for playable?) on Ultra at 1280x1024

The 8800GT, the first PC GPU to really stick it to the consoles in price:performance since the Xbox 360 launched

for me I also have a soft spot for the GTX 560Ti, the little GPU that could, amazing value for money at the time, as good for this as the 970 in its day

I hope Sony will really release more of its games on PC. Since I prefer to play on PC and I won't buy a console even for $ 5 because.

Bloodborne on PC, Yes. I own it on the PS4 Pro but never finished playing it. But bringing it on PC and play it at 4K 60fps is a Dream Come True.

I see people getting angry about PS5 games coming to PC. Can you really blame them? 1.4 billion players versus 120-150 million predicted PS5 sales. Microsoft didn't put their games on PC because they "want to give player choice", its because there's far more revenue potential. More people getting to play great games is a good thing.

The first world forgetting that there are people outside Europe and North America. The 5300 is most likely aimed at those markets where people don't have the same purchasing power. The 580 is outdated and even with more RAM will have lower performance because of efficiency improvements.

Horizon Zero Dawn ran perfectly for me on Ryzen 7, and a 1080 Ti, at 1440p high settings, locked at 60. GPU usage would swing from 50%-85% most of the time. It was on an adaptive sync screen, with it enabled, vsync off, but locked to 60 max.

You know when you're trying to have a conversation right after you eat a big meal, and you have that feeling like you need to burp while you're talking, and it makes you sound funny?

I will wait for RDNA 2 before deciding. I usually don't buy top tier but this time I will. I play DCS and the better the video card, the better experience, especially in VR.

tl;dr If you are having issues with games using a Navi card, *CHECK YOUR RAM.* I had G-Skill Geil PC3000 Cl 16 that I bought on sale for $90 bucks or so; that was actually inexpensive as heck when I bought it. Anyway, the B300 and b400 series absolutely HATE most RAM. Out of the 15 systems I've built the only RAM 've never had an issue with on 400 series boards have been Flare X and Corsair Vengeance LPX; regardless of what the QVL says. From Red Dead 2 too Rise/Shadow of the Tomb Raider, if it was DX12 or Vulkan Geil, T-Force; heck, even trident Z was a crapshoot. Oh, the Corsair Veangeance needs to be a certain SKU as well, as just bc it's Corsair Vengeance LPX pc3200 CL 15/16 does not mean it uses Samsung B die, so you need to look for...let me grab the SKU...CMK16GX4M2E3200C16 (basically you need CMK16GX4M2E before the speed and class). I bought the kits separately as well for $70 each. They are a little less expensive now at $67.99. For reference though, they have CV LPX 3600 for $61.99 USD. Why is it less expensive? Bc you aren't guaranteed to be getting Samsung B as if you check the SKU you'll see CMK16GX4M2D. The D is a variable whereas the E is always Samsung. Even DX 11 games like Outer Worlds gave me weird flashing issues which were just a pain in the rump. Good luck, as switching the RAM fixed 8 PCs that were having issues with budget RAM in simple things like Photoshop, CAD, obviously games, and just random nonsense.

I think they did a really good job with Horizon Zero Dawn. I bought it a few days after it was released on PC and it's run fine for me. Similar to yourself, I play at 1440p, average 71 FPS and it looks incredible. It's not the best looking game I've ever seen, but it is certainly in the top 10%, and it's 3+ years old now!

I have the settings all on normal except Textures (Ultra), Shadows (high) along with one other setting that's escaping me. maybe I'll edit it in afterward. I'm not using a crazy system; r7 2700 @ stock on the cheapest Gigabyte Auros M b450 you can get (4+3 PP) with the least expensive 5700 you could buy (XFX Ultra Thicc 2 for a whopping $300 USD that literally needed 2 screws tightened to run as cool as the $400+ 5700's, handling a 5700XT BIOS fine), a SATA Samsung 860 m.2 and another 860 Evo SSD with 32 GB Corsair Vengeance at 3200 @3600, 11-11-14-15- 28 (I had it at 3333 14-14-15-15-28 but after a few rounds of power cycling it decided the new settings were fine at 1.35v).

If I had to guess, the game has only crashed maybe 5 times in well over 100 hours of play and that's with WeMod and Youtube open (I'm tired of searching for crafting items so yep, I use WeMod for easycraft and shutting off the timer on Hunter's Lodge events) along with YT for when I'm stuck in a ruin or one of the override. So yeah, pre-patch it's run great on an all AMD machine.

AMD better have something to deal with DLSS 2.0

I want a PS console that has upgradable CPU GPU options. Less cheating than PC, ease of use, can still use PS store and PS plus, get all the PS exclusives, use the heptic adaptive controller, and have the VR. I think that would be cool

RTX 3xxx = no, it will be too high of price especially here in Canada. Both Next gen consoles are zen 2 /RDNA 2. Next gen games by Devs will target Zen 2/ RDNA 2 as base line. While I’m happy with GTX 1080Ti at moment. I am not paying $1200 to $1700 + Canadian for over priced RTX card. 2080TI here Canada still going for $1600 to $1700+ Canadian.

I am waiting see what big Navi will be. Then will see if worth upgrading. I also spect Amd RDNA 2 May do path tracing /RT better.

As for Sony games to pc. They should make their own OS for pc, using Linux. Then port games over to Linux along with using Vulkan api. It’s win win for everybody.
