My class wrote essays one time in 3rd grade about our favorite animals and I chose the chameleon. When I wrote about why it changed its color, I put down things about mood and the temperature. Another kid saw this, and reported my “wrong detail” to the teacher. She sided with the other kid and told me to change that detail to camouflage stuff instead. When I found a book that had proof of why they change color, she told me the book was wrong, and called the principal to punish me and my little 3rd grade self was triggered and hated that teacher and kid for the rest of that school year
