What up Lilchilly? Well I played with the Maxy Cinco today. Did your recommendations you last posted. Worked out great. My engine takes tiny throttle inputs, comes instantly down to idle from a long pull. Idles great as well. Will idle for about 45 seconds before it starts loading up but will idle forever and never cut off. What I did was what you said to do with the dreaded fuel rail (mid speed needle). I had to go about 1/2 turn rich and lean out the low speed. It runs good. Think I am a smudge rich on top but will leave it alone until I get some more fuel through the engine considering it is new (maybe 3/4 of a gallon after break-in.) My temps, which I really don't care about if its running good and consistent, but its running between 208-223 depending on how hard I beat on it. I have never had to mess with mid needles on any of my other engines and always steered away from them but after investigation, it is easy to get them back to stock settings by removing the high speed needle brass barrel, setting the mid speed flush with its housing and the hole lined up with the high speed needle. I noticed that I did in fact loose a little acceleration when adjusting the engine to function properly and consistent but that was probably due to it having lean spots on the low side. Thanks again Lilchilly for the help, it is greatly appreciated and makes me feel better that my car is running like it should and it is now easier to accept all the money spent on the car/engine/servos and tires. I have been playing with nitro R/C cars since the 90's and never really had issues tuning but I think that I was just not as anal with my tunes, you know the standard high speed lean, low speed rich and compensated with a big idle gap. I am now way more particular with my tunes and running into roadblocks, but all is well. I just bought a hero 7 today, mainly for my can-am X3 to trace down a water/alcohol leak that has been haunting me for a little time. Once I get it up and running I will send you a video of my car(s) running on my backyard track we built if you would like me too.

Thank you Lilchilly, I appreciate your help and your time,

Whas up man! what are some good ideas that are the right size for setting idle gap other than a paper clip? I seem to never have those around :) toothpick?

Awesome video. I have ran into an issue with one of my engines. It drops to a good steady idle but then idles up for about 4 or so seconds and then drops back down to idle and if it is left alone with no throttle blips it will load up and cut off. I cannot get it to tune regardless of the needle settings. I have never chased a tune this much in all my RC days. It is an RB modded 28.8.

What up Lilchilli? I discovered something I have never experienced before. I was running my Maxy Cinco 2.0 today which has a I would say medium length low speed needle, hell maybe a short. It is not a long LS needle for sure. It runs great, after a long high speed pass, it drops down to idle with no issues. It will idle for ages, and take off from a dig with no hesitation. The idle is very low, consistent and sounds to be tuned good. What I noticed today while pulling it in for more fuel is it does great after a high speed pass, drops to a low idle and seems like all is well but if I only apply a tiny bit of throttle, just to move the car, when I let off the idle hangs high for about 10-15 seconds and then eventually comes down to normal idle. If I blip it while it is at high idle it instantly drops to normal. What could be the problem, or is this even a problem? On track conditions it performs flawless and temps are about 235-245 when running hard. It only seems to hang at a high idle when throttle is barely applied and then released. I kinda lean toward a lean LS but if I go more rich on the low speed it 2 stage idles, loads up, cuts off or falls on its face during acceleration from a dig. What is your opinion on this?

How can you go about getting a novarossi engine

great video here well done i have the 2 stage idle issue been trying to work out for days i just cant get it i do get it close but wen i make a speed pass and come back it idels high for a split second then comes down but only will idle for 8 seconds then dies wen i start it up make a pass let idle come down i try to stab it on the throttle it cuts out for a split second like its too lean i cant figure out why it does this if i ricken the low a tad the idle goes up ive set idle gap i doent think i have an air leak anywere but i just cant get the dam idle to drop when i come off the throttle it will do it some times come right down but when it does then it woent stay idling for more then a few seconds and dies what do you think im doing wrong im running the novarossi truggy 28-8 motor took the place of the rex legend
