Flight prices are ridiculous at the moment

100% true I looked to book between now and aug. A 1 Star hotel package that would normally cost in the region of £1000 is now £3400+. I'm not sure if this is UK summer holiday prices but it's a total ripoff

Fortunately paid £420 with KLM/Air France last September for a return flight leaving next week (LON-BKK). Price is now £2400. I know it increases nearer the time but never to that extent. My guess is airlines are trying to recoup losses but blaming fuel prices. Also supply and demand - if there's less flights, it's more expensive.

Airlines looking for €1, 400 from Ireland to phuket, used to pay between 700 and 800 it's unfortunately too much now!

My usual flight use to be £460, now I’m paying £1, 400
Time to find a cheaper destination

The new price system works like this You didn't come last year or the year before so to make up for the Thais loss of face this years ticket price will be £450 + £450 + £450 = £2400 on Somchai's calculator, so seems very fair to me 😂

The airline I fly to Thailand on has doubled the prices for tickets and instead of 3 flights a day to Bangkok, they only have one flight a day now.

Seeing as I'm here, and Soi 6 is open, it looks like I'll have to continue carrying the burden for my fellow sportsmen facing travel challenges. Better take my vitamins.

It's lack of Chinese competition which is also a main issue

I had priced out roundtrip plane tickets to Bangkok a month ago, and they were $1600. They are now $1300, but I don't like paying over $1000 for a roundtrip plane ticket, since that is what I have paid for years.

I read the health minister is telling hotels not to discount rooms as Thailand only wants 'high end' tourists. Well done.
