When i started reading cote light novel after anime i was confused at first that why ayanokoji doesn't feel emotions or isn't able to express it but as i read and read i started to understand him just how miserable he is a human without emotions is just miserable he can't smile, laugh, cry, be happy, angry, or anything it broke me as i read more then the concept of white room came and i read vol 0 i understood the reason behind his emotionally detached personality it was engraved in his mind that winning is everything and if he doesn't win he will be disposed off and because of this mentality in white room even after leaving the white room that mentality is not leaving his mind as if it's a trauma but cote haters say that he is a edgy character or emo kid even koji said in ln that he wants to feel emotions he wanted to feel, anger, happiness, he wants to laugh, cry be miserable too but white room shattered and broke him completely from inside and outside i absolutely freaking hate ayanokojis dad and mom koji never saw his mom from birth he was sold by his own mom right after he was born his father putted him in the white room knowing that if he doesn't survive he will be disposed off he had seen child's getting disposed off he also saw other child's getting broken right in front of him and he was also just a little kid he was also scared, happy sad, angry but as time passed by he started to get detached from his emotions because his mentality was getting broken day by day and after 14 year's in white room it left nothing inside him
