At the G20 summit, the pressure is on Russia in particular. Dr Natasha Kuhrt, Senior Lecturer in International Peace and Security in the Department of War Studies, joins FRANCE 24 from King's College London to talk about Russia's war on Ukraine and their stab at diplomacy. Is Russia isolated? She warns that the conflict could end up overshadowing major economic issues.

Confusing, "All problems are with the Ukrainian side" Lavrov is clearly disillusioned, its all on Putlers Russia, pull out your troops and problem is solved. Only positive in this is that the whole world will get to see Russia fail spectacularly during our life time. Slava Ukraina and see you in the Hague for your trial....

Russia and all dictatorships must be given a lesson by the World.
Their treatment of their neighbour is abominable.
If the war ends tomorrow the punishment and sanctions must continue until Russia is humbled and bankrupt.

In the unlikely event that I'm invited to be interviewed on TV, I shall remember to brush my hair.

Nevertheless. When/if the war actually ends... the relationship between the two countries will Never be restored at all. Never Ever!!!

China is being China. But India can't claim to be a democracy or expect future support on its ongoing problems with China if it can't locate its spine.

Goodwill towards India is diminishing by the day.

Russia doesn't have a colonial past?

At the same time western Europe was colonising t h e America's and Africa Russia was expanding south and East.

Western Europe gave up their colonies (well most of them) whereas Russia still has most, nay almost all, of theirs.

No problems with Ukrainian side. Their conditions are what any reasonable person would expect in the circumstances. This was an unprovoked act of aggression, a grab for territory that, if not for the intelligence and resilience of a leader like Zelensky would have been a prelude to more "special military operations" in the region.
The killing of civilians, men women children, the destruction of buildings, architectural heritage, infrastructure, interference with nuclear plants was criminal in its intent and reckless in its modus operandi.
The world should not ignore these acts of criminality.
Power and responsibility go hand in hand. Those individuals who usurp their country's assets and play war games that impact not only on the immediate victims but create a ripple effect globally, increasing poverty, sickness and hunger in an already environmentally challenged global community seeking solutions to problems, should understand that the rule of law is what binds all nations in a common purpose.
You go into a shop and smash things the owner has a right to make you pay for the damage. This egregious behaviour against the Ukrainian people has consequences.

History has shown time and time again how one person can create havoc and wreck the lives of millions. There can be no compromise. Not one inch of land belonging to the Ukrainians should be handed over. The damage has to be paid for.
The loss in terms of human life, economic resources, and goodwill towards the countries who have historically much in common is immeasurable and no amount of money could compensate for what has happened and continues to happen.

UN: Talk, talk, talk. G20: Talk, talk, talk. What a terrible waste of resources.

China and India are going to have to decide at some point which side they’re on. The US can make it very difficult for both those countries if push comes to shove.

China and India are Russia's biggest Oil buyers right now and are getting a big discount. China is the biggest natural gas buyer with a pipeline in place. They will never turn on Russia explicitly.

This was interesting. Particularly China and India carefully calibrating responses. Responses which don't alienate their richest markets, as I see it.

These things are unendingly profiled as political machinations. But I would particularly relate what emerges to the economies of China and India. Some very interesting events have been taking place there.
