What a joy and an honor it was to see him in concert twice, . He belongs at the echelon of song writers, besides Cohen, Dylan and such.

In life we all take things and people for granted. I loved his music early with Rita Coolidge and after RiP Kris you are missed

Thanks so much for posting this. I'll bet Kris would be happy to hear his long-time friend and collaborator Larry Gatlin singing this song. On the Ken Burns PBS Country Music special Larry made a moving tribute to Kris in which he quoted the line ..."a lonely bell was ringing, and it echoed through the canyons like the disappearing dreams of yesterday" and said something like "all of these words are in the dictionary but before Kris nobody knew how the hell they were supposed to go together." In his day Larry Gatlin, now 74, has been one of the best singers ever to grace a stage. He deserves and has my respect and appreciation.

Bucket list checked off, saw the Legend in Salamanca New York.. He talked at me.. it got all quiet and i yelled out "Sing Billy Dee " .. in that grumpy gravely voice he said to me.. " I'm getting to it hold on " He played a big part of who i am today.

Larry was the first person to put me on stage when I was 18 months old. He gets so much Credit is a great songwriter but it is incredible how he interprets a lyric even if it’s a lyric that you’ve heard 100 times.

MK's timeless instrumental "Going Home" brings me back to the Summer of 1983. After spending a long weekend in England with a friend (guitar teacher) way back home by ferry. On board from Harwich to Hoek van Holland (NL) the movie "Local Hero" was playing, starring Burt Lancaster. Just when our boat will reach the Dutch harbor at the end "Going Home" was hearing. What a perfect timing! Just that special feeling of being home soon....
Thanks, Mark !!!

ANOTHER HERO HAS FALLEN Words by Joe Hester

Another hero has fallen, Right before our eyes As we sit there in silence, At the horrible surprise

All the others will be there to greet him, Up in that heavenly place He will live in our hearts forever, Standin' tall and full of grace

He has touched our life's forever, In so many different ways And now here we all set, In a numbness kinda haze

But tomorrow will still come, And it will be another day The world will go on revolving, In a weird sort of way

'Cause another hero has fallen, And the lord only knows why Maybe the lord doesn't want any heroes, Except for him in our eyes

Yes, another hero has fallen, And the lord only knows why Heroes are strong, and never do wrong, And they are never expected to die

But most of my heroes have vanished, Taken by the life that they've lead Doers and seer's, thinkers and believers, So tell me why, most of my heroes are dead

They'll live on in our hearts forever, Of this I can surely guarantee 'Cause that's where a hero lives, Forever in

Yes,

My hero has fallen, and my heart is broken 😢
