Even if they lowered it back down to $500k, that's still way too much. If they lowered it to $400k, that's a good start but it's still too much for most people living there. But given that the price of homes is steadily rising across the US, I doubt that this plan will have much of an effect. It's both sad and hilarious how much California increases the nationwide median home price.

None of those will be houses. They'll be units and modules and you'll have to be barely not broke or on partial welfare to end up living in them. Its best for the future ability to social engineer everyone and consolidate future political power while being able to live in a real house or mansion out on a vineyard. If what they claim is right, they'll run out of water and everyone will be rationing a few gallons/person/day.
