The worst part is he’s not even a High School Legend.. He had 1 viral moment then took 2-3yrs away from the spotlight and expected to get drafted it seems like he’s a little delusional and Gil isn’t helping by trying to compare a kid who hasn’t played organized basketball in 2yrs to LaMelo who was playing in the Pros at 16.

I coach AAU and I see this all the time. The kid re-classed to get the advantage on younger kids then opted out before they got a chance to catch up physically and expose him. He seems like a nice kid and I wish him the best but he's not fooling anybody.

Gil you did not help this guy... you aided his terrible thinking of giving up basketball at the most important time to do what "work on your game"? That's stupid asf. The main reason he wasn't drafted.

Im sure he’s been working hard and he’s better now but people actually need to see him play. He should go to college or g league cuz he’s still young

Hearing this kid speak you can tell he’s a couple tools short of a toolbox. Clearly his decision making the last few years prove that.

I'm ready to see him in competition for the league

How does he think anything he’s done in the last 2 years would make a team want to draft him?

In first 3 seconds, i became aware why he didnt get drafted. I dont need to know all the other stuff hes thinking about and talking loud. He said I HAVENT PLAYD IN A YEAR. So congrats, you played yourself. No draft for you, good job advisers and family.

This kid is 20, wtf you mean you sacrificed your senior year? I was 17 when i graduated.

Bro you’re like 21. He always played kids younger than him to make himself look better. He reclassified 2-3 times and only went down in rankings.

I just genuinely don't see how skipping his last year benefits his future goals at all. If anything it's just made it harder for him no? While I fully support his NBA dreams, I feel like he's so set on making it that he *could* be skipping crucial steps. It's like he's already made his mind up that he's set to be in the league. The confidence is great but how is he gonna get there when nobody has even seen him play in a game in a minute. He doesn't want to be a high school legend okay but why can't he be both that and in the league? I don't think the fact that players have played in high school is the reason they fell off. They ultimately weren't good enough to the continue to the next level no? So if he's THAT good why the fuck is he so worried about dropping off after HS. Go dominate HS and take it step by step like everybody else. At the end of the day it's just my opinion and I don't know shit but I realistically don't see how any team is gonna draft him if they have no tape of him past junior year. I feel like he worried too much about the outside noise and tryna make it when if he just stuck to playing the game like he was when he was highly ranked, he would've been set without having to trip about this shit.

And here we are smh. Not drafted. Absolutely nobody in his camp had his best interests or any sense. Gilbert really took it easy on him. He knows this was a crash dummy move.

There's a fine line between focusing on the main stuff and getting exposure. Hope he can still get exposure he needs without ballin at clinics and leagues. The D league will be useful

If he didn't ONLY want to be a highschool legend he should have played his seniors year, went to college, and got drafted . There's more and more young players nowadays trying to reinvent the wheel . Just go to school and play your year or two in college like NBA players have been doing for decades . Hes a great talent and I hope he gets his shot .. but I truly don't understand that decision making
