UBTECH Humanoid Robot Walker S: Workstation Assistant in EV Production Line

preview_player
Показать описание
The time has come for humanoid robots to enter industrial production lines and learn how to assist humans by undertaking repetitive, tedious and potentially dangerous tasks for them. Recently, UBTECH's humanoid robot Walker S was introduced into the assembly line of NIO's advanced vehicle manufacturing center, as an "intern" assisting in the car production. Walker S is the first bipedal humanoid robot to complete a specific workstation's tasks on a mobile EV production line.

This video just made manufacturing workers so happy....
They now know they have decades before the companies can actually replace them!
*demand pay rises while you can*

Finally finished the 2003 Battlestar Galactica. I, for one, welcome our Cylon overlords.

to replace 1 minimum wage emblem installer worker, you need 1 multi million dollar robot, paired with 10 highly skilled engineer to maintain it

Love how technology is coming along! Still go a way to go. Soon in years to come humanity can finally relax no stress getting up early hours in the morning, over working we can just take a seat and focus on ourselves! I know there will be some people unhappy with this!

"It can slightly move a seatbelt and it takes pictures.

If they made it look less human in the body, they could probably get it to move faster...

Call me when the robot walks to car to check belt. I can make a coffee meanwhile robot doing that. Massive improvement :D

Wright Brothers flew 120 feet in 1903. By 1913, planes flew 40 miles.

Guess these bots will make up lack of speed over time, with 24/7 work. Cause no human would be keeping their jobs at that pace.

It’s neat to see this demo. While humanoid bot technology still has a way to go. What’s the point of these particular demonstrations or rather, why choose the human anatomy when the canvas is wide open and countless other ways a bot could use as means of travel and interact and adapt with its environment as is true with nature itself.

To me, it appears a lot of energy is put into trying to imitate the human physiology when firstly, it’s not the epitome of efficiency. The demonstration makes it clear, at least to me that a robotic arm with wheels could out perform both human and humanoids on many tasks continually chosen to demonstrate.

Yeah, over time the goal is to exceed a 1:1 organic human. But therein lies the issue in my opinion, confound to the shell of our own limitations.

Very good. Robots should be soft like humans, though. Softer robots are more versatile.

I understand your concern. The idea of using robots as inspectors over human blue-collar workers can indeed raise ethical and social considerations. It's important to ensure that technology is implemented in a way that benefits both workers and society as a whole, while also considering the impact on employment and human well-being. Balancing automation with human labor and ensuring fair treatment of workers are essential aspects to consider in the deployment of such technologies.

That's kind of crazy I work on an assembly line I put in 10 bolts two trim pieces I put on two badges and check all the lines under the hood in 18 seconds that robot has a long way to go

You wait until they really evolve, and start seeing humans has their main treat, has they did in terminator and the Matrix, that will be great progress

No social security, no health benefits, no retirement plan, no safety regulations, works 24/7, works in the dark, works in the cold. Imagine 5 of them doing the work of best human worker in factory and still being cheaper, then it won't matter how slow they are.
But I guess this video is just a showoff. When these robots become production ready, we won't see them how they work because it will be a trade secret.
