Drifting Away into Legalism - BEWARE!

DRIFTING AWAY INTO LEGALISM

If only I could explain the grief I feel when I see brothers and sisters argue over beggarly elements and basic carnal issues drenched in pure human wisdom. Many brothers and sisters I know are still stuck in legal issues, arguing about what clothes we should wear, what food we should eat and what day is best to worship on.

I have seen Christians who were so grateful for the blood of Christ and His forgiveness, they got baptized and then with time got bewitched by the legalistic gospel, another gospel which is not another. Their focus was shifted away from the simplicity of the gospel, from the sufficiency they had IN CHRIST.

Suddenly, they became prideful in their ignorance, not knowing that legalism kills humility, feeds the flesh and nourishes self-pride. Christians look down on other Christians because in their minds, they are doing more, they are more "godly", they start believing being legalistic makes them MORE SPIRITUAL. While in reality, it is the lack of the Spirit that causes that bewitching gospel to come back with that blinding force.

The apostle Paul was in pain over the Galatians over their state because of legalism. He also was very careful in explaining what law, rules and regulations were for, they were added because of TRANSGRESSIONS he says. It was not for the Godly, it was for the lawless and the sinners. It is common sense for any man to see.

We only have to rebuke CHILDREN about what they should do or should NOT DO, and that is precisely because they are very young, they can't even understand what is right or wrong. Similarly, it is the very young babes in Christ that still have to be reminded what is right and wrong and that is because the flesh is still alive in them. Some others who have even experienced the Spirit to a great extent get deceived by the devil because of pride and they fall away into it.

The Mature in Christ have their flesh dying, and when the flesh is dead how can it desire to feed anymore ? That is why the mature in the Spirit don't need a cage around them. Sadly, that Spiritual Truth seems so hard to understand for professing legalistic Christians today. Even though we simply read how the pharisees were attacking Jesus our Lord and His apostles over these issues, even though we see how Jesus was very harsh on that hypocrisy, they still ignore that and CHOOSE to feed their flesh with legalism. Jesus is NEVER ENOUGH for them.

Dear brother,
Don't drift away into legalism
Don't allow the devil to bewitch you with this other gospel
Don't allow legalism to feed your flesh and pride

Remain IN CHRIST and the SPIRIT OF CHRIST will GUIDE YOU INTO HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. It is ALWAYS HIM, nothing in us. Without Jesus we can do absolutely NOTHING.

Personally I want to learn from Ruth and take to my heart the confessions Ruth made to Naomi. I, Personally daily make the following confessions to my Father in the name of Yeshua. Starting from Ruth 1:16. I am paraphrasing.

3.Lord your people shall be my people,

I want to be like my Lord. Brother personally I want to live by EVERYWORD that proceeds of of the mouth of God.
This is a tough subject considering all the doctrines created by man since the Assention of Our Lord. We pray for guidance. I repeat Salvation only in Christ. John 17:3.. Eternal life is to know The Father of Our Lord as the ONLY TRUE God and the one he sent.. Yeshua the Christ. Amen.

GALATIANS 6:1 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- which is is really no gospel at all.
( good message again brother for we all stumble in many ways and legalism is dangerous, to my shame i must admit anytime i back slid it was when i foolishly stopped reading my bible or praying, and the worse thing a a christain can do ( especially new born again christains) is listen to other voices rather than God's and his word the bible, that's what i learned anyway as false teachers and false doctrines are rampant.
