The third Haslab from Marvel Legends has been revealed and is open for backing.
BUT
Having a look back at all three Haslabs, their price, their unlock tiers and the amount of backers each one got. I ask the question…..Are they actually worth it?

Funding is open NOW through till October 31st for Haslab’s Ghost Rider : Robbie Reyes and it needs a minimum of 9000 backers at $349.99 each…
Plus additional 6 inch figures promised as unlick tiers!!
Will it make it?

The tiers should not be considered part of the price. They’re meant to be bonus freebies once it is backed. Rationalising the cost is a marketing trick by hasbro. It’s 350 for the product itself. If it funds and doesn’t make the tiers it should be still value for money. That’s the point of it.

Out of curiosity, couldn’t we just all back it, see they the tiers are and then decide whether we want it or not?

I think their exact wording was "none of the tiers will be motorcycles or horses". so technically telling the truth if the final tier is a Rider without his bike. which kinda sucks in a way, but its better than almost anything else.

im gonna be honest, id really rather it had been 450 instead of 350, and have the base offering be Robbie, Danny, & the Original Ghost Rider, with the Charger, Bike, & Horse respectively all included. Then Tiers be 1: Blackheart, 2: Depowered and half transformed head sculpts of all 3 along with a few other random little accessories, 3: Mephisto, & 4: Nic Cage Johnny Blaze (doesnt even have to have a bike on this one lol, just give me the figure).

personally i really want it, but im not seeing the value right now. if it hits the early bird and Blackheart is a tier, then ill probably back it because i feel like i could sell those two for like 125-150 and its definitely worth it to get Mephisto and Robbie for 200, and i dont care about the powered down fig and Blackheart.

Very good video, just you need to redo math…Legends are now retailing at $28.99! I noticed all the older ones got the bump to $24.99 and newer ones are shelving at $28.99! Doesn’t help, but this HasLab is a force! $150 tops for what they’ve shown! If they do 6 figures with the car and proper accessories…I’ll hop in! But this is just Hasbro pushing us collectors further away with their imaginary inflation that doesn’t exist for toys! No other company raised prices, why did they do it four times now?!?!

In addition to Mephisto, I wish for his son Blackheart. Then you could still unlock Dracula and Blade. And maybe a cool bike from Johnny Blaze. Since the figure appears separately, you can add the bike to the Haslab project. That would justify the price

If you're on the fence, I implore you to back this so we can get the tiers unlocked. Otherwise we pay 350 for just the base offering, or it doesn't even get made. You'll have 43 days to change your minds. Let's at least get the early bird and some tiers unlocked. I know it's rewarding bad behavior but hopefully the tiers make up for it.

I still think this will get backed. $350 is quite a bit for a car with light up effects + 2 Ghost Rider figures. It's hard for me to count those tiers to make up for the cost but if Mephisto and Blackheart show up in those tiers, my bank account will be in tears

A year after Galactus gets in ppls hands that thing will be right around the backing price. 32k made compared to 23k of the army building Sentinel. Too many ppl grabbed multiples in hope of reselling but they're going to find themselves with very large unopened boxes collecting dust.

Definitely a more nuanced take on the topic cause I'm tired of big influencers screaming about the price, meanwhile their Haslab Sentinels are T-posing around them. Heard one YouTuber say it should be 175 and I howled with laughter, that's wishful thinking and a bit of coping. I think the project looks great and worth the price, it ABSOLUTELY is expensive.

A lot of people are looking forward to what characters are included in this, but personally I hope Blackheart isn't one of the tiers. He has such a sick design and I'd rather not buy an entire Haslab just to get a figure of him. More power to those who want him as a tier, but I'd be fine with a regular release or even something like a deluxe.

I can see the value in the Sentinel and Galactus but the price is crazy for what you get with The Engine of Vengeance, the Mattel Multiverse RC JL Batmobile, Threezero light up, die cast Hulkbuster, Mezco Ghost Rider with bike and the Mattel The Batman RC Batmobile are of similar size, if not bigger, have more features, can be found at retail and are all cheaper.

Make it make sense Hasbro 🤷‍♂ lol

Good brake down but you forgot 1 thing when talking about Ghost Rider. 1) the profit margin Hasbro is racking in. With all the low quality materials like the paper boxing, now that coasts 90% less to produce, but they are now $10 more per unit. Is this just another way to get more blood from a stone out of fans. 2) the Sentinel and Gulactus, as they are would have never ever been able to get to retail in todays market. BUT this GR could have been. Take out the “useless” gimmicks and features. Like the movable stick shift, adjustable car seat, and you could have took out the overhead lights and some on the esthetics like the cute peddles. This Car and Ghost Rider figure could easily gone to retail and no one would have batted an eye. 3) the fact they will not be releasing figures that may or may not be ghost rider related. That bothers me for a couple reasons. They have plenty of Figures they never put out properly in the Marvel Legends that are ghost rider universe. 1. Blackout 2. Death Watch 3. Black heart . Vengeance (w/o his bike it would be stupid 4) Dan Ketch. So them saying they not all will be part of The GRU just tells me this was a retail release and then Hasbro earlier didn’t have an idea for the next Haslab OR they just said to themselves let’s add some lights and use this as the Haslab and rip are fans off. They think figures are expensive now so they will think they are getting there money’s worth even though it only coasts us the same to make. Witch they were going to probably put out down the road anyway. This has nothing to do with the price it’s the Hasbro CON job

Great breakdown, 👏👏👏👏 but Dan apparently confirmed on a live stream that Danny won’t be a tier. Something about not wanting to put such a popular character behind the HasLab paywall. Which is good, I think.

I think I'm in a bit of a minority in that I don't prefer the unlock tiers to be figures, as I would much rather get unlocks that are specific for the Haslab project itself.

Figures, they can release any time and as a consumer, I can choose which ones I want to buy. Like in the case of Galactus, Surfer definitely could be a solo release, but I also think that Nova and Morg could also be released. If somebody like Firelord, Nightstalker, or Psycho man could get a solo release, why couldn't Nova or Morg? Especially considering how much budget went into Psycho Man.

But Haslabs are the only chance we get to get accessories for that Haslab project. Like for Galactus, I would have loved an energy beams pack to place on his eyes or hands, or perhaps a Celestial head, or a planet, or all the other great ideas I saw online. The only good thing I like about including figures is that everyone knows the value of a figure, so it's easy to conceptualize where their money is going and it also helps to be able to resale those figures to recuperate some money back. But again, the tiers should be bonuses and not factored into the cost. The price for the project should be for the base offering of the project alone and it should be worth it.

The base Sentinel was worth it. The base HISS was worth it. Unlocking all the tiers adds to the value and makes it more "worth it" but the Hellcharger and Galactus are not worth the price until you include the tiers. And that's not right.

Son of Satan/Daimon Hellstrom, Umar, Nightmare, Dream Queen, Goblyn Queen, Belasco, Sym, Satanna, Dracula, Talisman, Morgan Lefay, Agatha Harkness, Baron Mordo, Clea, Gargoyle, Jennifer Kale, Topaz & Rintrah are all viable candidates.
