5 Best Teacup Dogs That Don't Shed 🐶🦴🐶

📢 Although most people like dogs, most pet owners can agree that they could probably do with a lot less shedding, as many of us find ourselves sweeping or vacuuming daily just to keep the house from looking like it got taken over by a hair factory. With all that in mind, today we’re going to take a look at some of the best Teacup dogs that don’t shed, allowing for you to have a bite-sized pup without all the fuss.

👉 A Quick Overview

If you love tiny, adorable dogs, then chances are you have at least glanced online at Teacup Dogs. The breed is beyond cute, adorable, and you would be hard-pressed to find almost anyone with a single bad thing to say about how they look. While they can be a ton of fun, they also require more care as a result of their high energy levels, and so we strongly recommend you only consider going the Teacup route if you are able to be around your pup throughout the day.

🐶 Teacup Chihuahua

The already small Chihuahua gets shrunk down even more in its teacup form, and honestly, we can’t get enough of it! This dog is often referred to as the “Puppy Purse Dog” by people, and it’s clear to see why, the teacup Chihuahua is an absolutely perfect pick for people that want to be close to their dogs all day, as if you train them they can become VERY comfortable stored in your purse. This pet also does come with its fair share of caveats to be aware of, however, like the fact that your dog would be able to get along pretty well with cats, but not very well with children or even other dogs!

🐶 Toy Poodle

Tiny, smart as a whip, and non-shedding all in one six pound package. That is essentially what you get when you go the Toy Poodle route, a popular breed that comes in three sizes. Obviously, today we will be covering the Teacup version of the Toy Poodle, which has its own benefits and shortcomings. The Teacup Toy Poodle is much more adaptable than the Teacup Chihuahua, mainly due to how easy they are to train, and how clever and resourceful they become after leaving the puppy stage.

🐶 Teacup Yorkshire Terrier

The Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie as most people call them, somehow finds a way to become even cuter as a Teacup, and is also a great option for many. The Yorkie will immediately make an impact on your life as soon as you bring them home, because of their energetic, confident demeanor. The Teacup Yorkie weighs between 2 and 4 pounds when fully grown, which is slightly less than the Teacup Chihuahua for reference. This dog is smart and can adapt to a more cramped living situation without it affecting it too much, and many consider this the gold standard for Teacups because of both their infectious personality and their unyielding love for their owner.

🐶 Bichon Frise

This one may deserve an asterisk because technically the American Kennel Club, or AKC for short, does not officially the Bichon Frise as a true teacup because it is slightly bigger than regulation, but we are going to let that slide, so we can tell you about this special little guy. The dog is a quaint, sensitive animal that has fur that makes it look like it’s been covered in cotton balls and is one of the most devoted breeds out there.

🐶 Teacup Pekingese

The Pekingese is a cool dog with a lot of history surrounding it, dating all the way back to Ancient China when royalty used to keep them as loyal lapdogs, which is why some people believe them to be the oldest domesticated dogs in history. Getting away from the historical stuff, though, the Teacup Pekingese is a great animal and has some unique qualities. For one, they are crazy tiny, and can easily fit right into the palm of your hand, if you can believe that!

Toy poodles are a recognized breed. There is no such thing as a teacup poodle . They are bred with two sickly undersized dogs that is why there are so small. Toy Poodle .Doctors say common health issues for teacup dogs include hypoglycemia, heart defects, collapsing trachea, seizures, respiratory problems, digestive problems, and blindness. The breeding practices can also lead to an increased risk for liver shunts,

If you bathe them frequently and brush them as a part of loving on them, teacup chihuahuas are easy pets to keep and love, and don’t shed that you can notice. As for their breath, they DO get malodorous breath when they’re older. Just get their teeth cleaned by a veterinarian as they recommend. As a bonus they generally live long. My mother had two. They lived 15 and 16 years. My chihuahua is 17 years old and besides slowing down and resting more, she still plays when my children and grandchildren come over. Amazing little fur babies!

Pugs SHED ALL YEAR. And a lot. I’ve had one for 9 years. And their fur will be everywhere. They make up for it by being adorable and affectionate. But they’re quite mischievous and do cute funny things that will make their human laugh and fall in love with them even more. But yes, they shed a lot, all year round. So just be prepared for that if you’re planning to welcome a cute little pug into your home.

Chihuahuas, they seem very VERY adorable or- INNOCENT. But… a lot of people think they are pretty dangerous known for a few owners or people that have seen chihuahuas barking at random strangers in the middle of nowhere. But I have a chihuahua that is very VERY kind but when he sees a new person he barks at them IMMEDIATELY. But when you get used to having one you’ll know as soon as possible.

FYI. That phrase is "quick as a whip". I'm not sure how whips got a reputation for intelligence, but they are fast.
