Gareth Southgate says England must be completely ruthless from now until World Cup

Gareth Southgate says England must be "completely ruthless" from here on out as World Cup preparations ramp up on the back of June's chastening Nations League results.

England are in Milan to take on Euro 2020 final foes Italy on Friday evening knowing defeat will see them relegated from the top tier of the Nations League.

It would be an embarrassing moment and another difficult bump in the road for one of the World Cup favourites in their penultimate match before the tournament.

Southgate's side are determined to get back to winning ways on Friday as they return to action for the first time since some fans called for the manager's head during the humiliating 4-0 home loss to Hungary.

Southgate is the English FA man. He doesn't speak out of terms to anguish the controllers and a media darling. In terms of football coaching he is as dull as they come and weak in the heart. Football is a game of risk but no, no, no that does not sit well with the bus parker.

I’ve said it on Facebook and Twitter, Southgate’s England have to win both games to stay in the Nations League A, lose tonight, Southgate will have something on his CV that even McClaren didn’t have; International Relegation.
Southgate is fighting for what little reputation he has left, if he fails, I think he’ll either be sacked, or he’ll resign, and don’t think because of how close to the World Cup it is that the FA won’t consider it.

Bottom line, Southgate had better be ruthless, cause his job is hanging by a thread.

I’m fed up of Southgate now. His team selections are always, always clueless. I was once one of those naive fans that thought he was responsible to getting us to the final of the euros but if you look at our games Malta could of won those games. There’s not one supporter who can hand on heart tell me Dan burn isn’t better than Maguire.
