I love the honesty in this song. In times when I'm distant from God and my head knows He's good but my heart is numb to Him this song helps me express how I feel to God. There are times when I can't genuinally sing from my heart songs of praise even though I know in my head that He's worthy of all my praise but I still need to sing something so this song is perfect for that.

I am at a place in my life when I need a reason to sing I’m depressed angry and mad. It’s just that I am lonely even when I say I am fine. I am laid off from work like a lot of us are, I am fighting with those I love. Friends and family and my own selfish side of me.
