That looks like it was designed by someone who was vaguely aware that BMWs are supposed to have a double grille but had never actually seen a BMW. The grilles on the M3/M4 are obnoxiously large, but at least the cars look like BMWs.

I have a 2020 M2 comp and had a chance to sit in the new M2 recently.
The Outside is fine in person, not the best, not the worst. What bugs me most is that it got so much larger on the outside, while at the same time shrinking on the inside.
And while it wont make a difference to most people, the weight is just absurd... an M2 thats heavier than a Mustang and a Camaro...

The newer BMW designs really make me appreciate the old BMW designs way more. I don't know what they're doing over there but nothing they've released looks good to me in the last many years. I'm sure the car performs well though and the interior looks good. But such a weird combination of shapes.

I actually prefer the new look of the M2 compared to the previous this car looks more boxy muscular and aggressive and the body reminds me of the E30 M3 while I thought the outgoing M2 was too curvy for my taste.

I think the looks would be significantly improved if there was a body coloured piece at the bottom of the lower grille, between the two boxes. Kind of how the Camaro sucked when they removed the body colour connector at the front and put it back in due to the backlash from the public.
