Chicago to open new shelter in Uptown for migrants

A new migrant shelter is set to open next week in Chicago and will house between 500 and 600 migrants.

I was at the meeting and they only answered 10 questions that were hand picked by the Alderwoman from Uptown. Mostly as a photo opportunity. In favor of this.
There were dissenting voices just were not allowed to be publicly heard.
They already have these migrants panhandling in the area. I work downtown and on State Street crime has increased along where they are being housed at the old Standard Club. A couple of weeks back two were arrested for strong arm robbing people along State Street. One was arrested 3 times for shoplifting from Macy’s in a week.
