🎋The staple food of ancient India was millet, not rice.
🎋The Green Revolution encouraged the production of rice and wheat. Unfortunately excess refining removed bran and left the easy digestible kernel which converts to starch and sugar.
🎋Millets, on the other hand contains high amounts of dietary fibre which help lower blood glucose levels and they are great source of several minerals and vitamins like phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, Iron, Vitamin B6 and folic acid.
🎋Our generation has forgotten to include Millets in their diets.
🎋Children always learn from their parents. If we eat healthy, they will also learn to eat healthy.
🎋Millets were part of our grandparent's diet, it's only in the past few decades that their consumption has reduced.
🎋We need to embrace the goodness of millets.
