In Northwest Tennessee a new source of renewable energy has taken shape, powered by the sun, and fueled by a commitment to a sustainable future.
With nearly 300,000 solar panels, Skyhawk Solar generates enough carbon-free energy to power over 20,000 homes.
The project created hundreds of jobs during construction, and will provide local jobs during its decades of operation. It will continue to provide millions of dollars in ongoing economic benefits for the region.
Origis Energy developed, built and operates the solar project. It is part of the Tennessee Valley Authority grid infrastracture, with Google participating through the TVA Green Invest Program. The project is owned by Excelsior Energy Capital.
