The math you used was good (as far as I could follow), but an error you made was that an aluminum on the top and bottom are twice as thick as on the sides, so the surface area should be (4*pi*r^2)+(2*pi*r). If you use this formula instead, then the answer will more closely match what a soda can’s dimensions are in real life.
