Показать описание
In this video we discuss how to calculate the standard deviation using the built in function in excel. We go through a detailed example step by step using the function
Transcript/notes
Here in column B is a sample data set of the yards receiving for a receiver over a 17 game period. We are going to go through how to calculate standard deviation for this data set, in excel by using the built in function.
We are going to put the answer in cell D10, so left click on D10. Next type in an equals sign, then type in the letters st and a pop box will appear. In the box left double click on stdev.s, the s stands for sample, and the .p stands for population, depending on the data you are working with.
Next, left click and hold on the first value in the data set, in this case cell B2, then drag down to the last value in cell B18, and then release the left click and hold. From here, type in a closed parenthesis to close off the function, and then we hit the enter key, and we have our answer of 56.73 rounded off.
