Once, in the queue for confessions in our cathedral (UK), the first priest came out, looked at the *long* queue, and said, 'Good afternoon, penitents. Looks like we've had a hard week sinning...' and sloped back to the box.
I laughed so hard! 😂

Thank you Father. My church only offered confession on Thursdays, so I never went the 9 years I was there. Now I go to a church that offers confession every day before mass. I go every two weeks. It’s great having priests who support us with confession.
