A major tech company will be awarded a $10 billion, 10-year contract by the Pentagon to move its information technology systems to the cloud, and according to a report by ProPublica, that's just the beginning of Silicon Valley's deep ties to the government. Almost every big company uses AWS (Amazon web services) for cloud backup. Government, lawyers, accounting firms, streaming systems like Netflix all use AWS because it’s reliable, safe, bomb-proof, and portable. While big tech doesn’t have a great track record, we have to trust the ppl who hold our data not to breach our privacy (ie using Apple’s cloud to backup our phones or Microsoft One drive)
