One of those $60 death stars was mine that I sold!

Looks like the little Death Star was an anomaly as the Tatooine Homestead and Lars Kitchen dropped fairly quickly to about $30 on Ebay. I expect the same from the Battle Droid Carrier after the initial hype dies down. This year you'll be lucky to get about 30% "off" with points, gwp's, Rakuten, etc. and then you have the sales work to do also. I'm using my budget for retired sets still in the wild like the Blacksmith and Llama Village for a better return and hold just until next Q4.

Promos go immediately. The norm is they start high, go low as more people get their hands on them, then go back up. But it usually only goes back up to where it was during the first few weeks of release. It's rare a promo jumps up in value to make it worth holding for multiple years. Death Star promos I sold locally and made the same profit.

Exact information I was interested in! Thanks for this video and for taking time to run the numbers!

The waybackmachine is some underrated tech. I still cannot understand how they deploy bots to snapshot the "web".

I actually think the resell value for this year's promo will increase in the long run because this is not like the traditional Gwps. It's like a battle pack for army builders so it doesn't make sense to compare it with the death star promo which people only need one copy.

The sell through rate of the coin and polybag are terrible, that is why people bundle them. Sell it separate and wait for months, or bundle it and sell it in a month or less for 10% less. Same logic for Auction versus Buy It now. Auction with a low start is guaranteed to sell, but for about 10% less than buy it now. However, you push more inventory this way instead of sitting on it.

Hard to resell gwps as it is just a race to the bottom after release. I don't do that but they do not sell quick

Battle droid carriers are going for $95 + shipping and they're selling quickly at that price

So far I made rather underwhelming experiences with GWP. For a fixed price you compete with so many other vendors trying to sell their stock. For an auction, buyers are not willing to bid as high as the fixed price. As for the X-Wing polybag, that was thrown out by vendors in Germany for around 3.99 euros. No chance making any money with that over here.

Good info! Was that same Emperor's room diorama really 160$ last year and now its 99$? Or is it a different set?

The only reason I see the droid carrier doing well, is people wanting to army build.

So you're not selling at say 75 bucks, you're selling at 75 plus shipping. That alone turns off many buyers. Also this was an unnecessary long video.
