I was adopted at 8 months old and 2 Days ago i found my biological father and discovered we are both avid outdoorsman. 3 weeks from now we will be reuniting and going on a week long hike together and im so emotional and excited at the same time. Its crazy this exact circumstance is happening to me.

The first shock, your dad is alive. Part 2, he is just like you. Your passion is his. It’s insane what this whole genes things get passed to the kid. I know first hand that shock. Let me just say how epic of a feeling that was for her to know her dad and her share that same passion. It’s the most epic mind trip any person can feel. That kind of joy, nothing compares. I found out about my biological dad by a complete stranger who was a grandmaster and budda. I found out about my mom's secret which was her previous marriage that she's been hiding from us all these times. I finally was able to locate my dad and got to live with him a little bit before he later on passed. We deserved to know the truth and our roots no matter what kind of relationship between our parents. It's just selfish. Luckily it wasn't too late for me.

Exact same situation here, my father didn't know he had a daughter then 20 something years later she finds him with a few clues and the help of a PI. It was certainly a surprise to me age 10 to be told you have a big sister in another city. I felt like I became an uncle over night to her kids. We see her once a year go camping together 😊

As a father this hurts man. We are always second to mother which is ok but we love our kids too and have feelings

This was by far my favorite LLF episode. I cry every time I see the repeat on TLC. I hope they are doing well .

Stories like this reminds me why family bond can be so strong. Even without knowing someone, you would cry for them.

But then on the other hand, we have other stories of parents living with their kids, see them every day, and don't give a care about what happens to them.

A friend about 25 years found her biological father. When she contacted him, it was not so nice. He cussed at her and threatened to kill her if she ever contacted him or his family again. She was so upset about what happened and I told her that she was better off without him because she now knows what kind of person he is truly like.

You are so blessed! I found out thru ancestry dna that my dad who raised me wasn't biological. I found my biological dad, but he died when I was 17..:( Very sad I can never meet him. I did find my half sister, though and she is wonderful. Your story touched me because I am a wildlife advocate as well..<3
