To say China improved air pollution around the globe is perhaps better said as, "China stopped polluting the entire globe's air by a notable amount". Same as if the US had reduced it's air pollution. Good for China all the same. Very impressive.

Yet they moved all the coal fired plants further out. So they are still polluting and increasing their use of coal each year with new coal fired plants coming on line each year for the next 10 years

Y'know, it a nice refresher to see someone not saying "china bad" for the sake of it. Then you see the comments.

Apparently they're still building coal fired power plants which is very, very wrong head in the sand stuff.

You would think the factory of the world would have some way of turning waste products into energy

Pollution is a massive issue that's been getting worse over the years. It affects everything from air quality to water sources, and its impact is hard to ignore. In some places, the levels of pollution are incredibly low, but even small amounts can still harm the environment. As we try to tackle the problem, the hope is that these harmful effects will slowly taper off, becoming less noticeable over time. If we act now, maybe we can make the negative impacts fade away for future generations.

Singapore used to boast that China cannot beat it for blue sky! Not anymore. China now has blue sky day no less than singapore in a year.

China is the largest producer and consumer of coal in the world and is the largest user of coal-generated electricity, with over a 1200 coal-fired power stations. The share of coal in the energy mix during the 2010s, is 80% in 2010. China emits over 31% of global greenhouse gas. China's large demand was in part responsible for the delay in peak global coal production, coal production reached a record high in December 2021 and coal consumption in China is forecast to reach a record high again in 2024

I was in China during this time, they did not just shut down factories they moved them to poorer provinces outside the city so the wealthy people in the city had better air. China does great on paper but its a lot of moving coconuts.

This makes it sound like they aren't building more coal plants than decommissioning them, which is not the case. They just needed their city to not be a PR disaster. This is akin to them painting their mountains green and spraying chemicals in the sky to make it blue, but it has a useful side effect for everyone.

Wonder how much they pay him to say this?

You can tell they are lying when their mouth is moving

Don't forget the part where they photoshopped all the photos and removed all the pollution to make it look really good.

How much did they pay you to say that? Have you ever heard of the electrical car graveyard? Or how they are spraying mountains with Green paint to make it look like grass???

21% reduction of “Crazy Bad” 500 AQI rating equals 400 AQI… 🙊

Isn't it amazing when you can " play " around with the figures to make anything look good ?
