We just got off the Prima today. While we really enjoyed the cruise, we won’t return to this ship until trying many others. The main pool was way too small for this many passengers, and while the side pools on deck 8 helped, they were all still packed. We had Vibe access which probably saved our experience. Our cruise also had only a dozen kids or so which helped. The specialty dining was amazing, but indulge was disappointing, and don’t get me started on how small the buffet was. Good luck ever finding a seat.

We did the 10 day Mediterranean cruise through Spain, France & Italy. The stops were amazing, except for all the issues with Norwegian, (not the Viva, just those running it) it was a great trip.
Having been spoiled by Royal Caribbean over the years, we will not be back to Norwegian. Our friends are regular Carnival travelers & even they agreed they would never do Norwegian again.
We all know that upselling is part of cruising, but Norwegian has taken it to the next level, & to the point that it actually takes away from enjoying time on the ship.
1) We paid extra for the "Vibe beach club" only to find out you get very little for the money. There is nothing to do with any beach or club, not even light music in the background. It is a private area, but there is no pool, only two hot tubs & it closes at 7pm.
So if you go out on an excursion, you eat afterwards, there is zero chance you'll even get to use it. We tried three times over a 10 day cruise & maybe got two total hours in. This would only be beneficial if you wanted silent time alone in a hot tub. Otherwise the main hot tubs had plenty of room & were open until 9pm! The floor is extremely hot & you have to wear something on your feet at all times in the club area. Not possible to even make it from your chair to the hot tub without your feet covered. You would think paying hundreds of dollars per person for a private area on the ship would come with some benefit. Nope, no extra hours, nicer pool (or any pool for that matter) etc.
2) The go kart track is not only another extra charge, but it's only open several hours per day! That's right, a ship you'll be on for 24 hours at a time, & the go karts are nearly impossible to even ride.
Open from 1-7pm some days, so by the time you're back on board after an excursion, just like the "beach club", it's closed & unavailable. The at sea days when there's no excursion, guess what, they're closed until 6pm. All day while everyone is on board & available to ride them, no go karts. So unless you want to skip dinner, you don't get to ride them then either.
3) They have darts but unless you want to pay extra for simply throwing darts, don't bother, after dinner, nope, they're closed! Even if we were to go during the day, if you want a drink while playing, nope, there's no bar in sight or even on the floor, you have to leave that area & take an elevator to a floor that has a bar!
4) Want to play put put golf late at night or after dinner? Nope, they're closed! Went back several times & had no luck catching them open.
5) The slides look amazing, until you try to ride them & realize all but one are not water slides! They have you lay on a mat that grips the slide so much that you literally come to a stop & have to scoot yourself to get going again. The one that was a water slide was of course another up charge, so we never rode it.
6) Simply ordering drinks was a hassle from time to time. At one point I had three people from behind the bar ask what I wanted, finally a fourth asked & said he was the only one making drinks, the others who asked me weren't & to not wait for them. Then why are all the others asking me if they're not making them or relaying the order at least? Very strange.
Never did get drinks after having this happen on three different occasions at different bars.
7) We had originally prepaid for a transfer back to the airport after the trip. We later booked an excursion that includes a transfer to the airport. Norwegian took it upon themselves to then cancel our originally paid for transfer. They then decided to cancel the excursion since there was not enough time for it before our flight. But didn't rebook our transfer! They also didn't bother to tell us this. We only figured it out when we didn't receive our transfer schedule or bag tags. Luckily we went to customer service only to be told of their screw up & that there's nothing they could do since the cut off for booking transfers had passed.
They said to try to catch a cab but to get there early since there are very few available. Lovely! Luckily for us we were early enough to catch a $200 cab ride. Never again Norwegian.

Nice ship but I prefer NCL’s Breakaway class. The new ships are smaller with bigger haven areas. Factor in the go kart track there isn’t much space left.

Do they offer karaoke as one of the evening activities?

What is the best, less crowded ship for adults only

Great tour. Thank you. With any ship its what you make of it. My friends and I always have a great time. Could care less about the vibe beach club.

Thanks for the video! Very informative. Not surprisingly just about every activity onboard costs money. I personally don't understand the need for a dart board onboard a ship or why they would need to charge for such a pointless activity. When I get home, I can go down to the local hangout and play for free.

This ship looks so boring compared to new Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas

these new mega ships with all those stacks of decks and minimal funnel designs are ugly. the ships of yesteryear look so much better.

I have taken cruises and found that this Norwegian Joy which I took from November 30, th. A 15 night cruise to Las Angeles through the Panama Canal. It was the dirtiest ship that I was ever on. bad food, and bad entertainment. I strongly recommend stay away from Norwegian cruises. They don't care about their passengers and don't take any responsibility for anything. Yes, I had a couple of issues. We were tested in good health before going on the ship. We happeen to develope COVID by the ships medical and charged over $9, 300. They let sick people and customer relations could care less, unhelpful, extremely rude, (if you turn your back they laugh) not helpful. Customer relation in Miami the same. I strongly recommend stay away from Norwegian cruise lines. There are much better cruise lines out there that will help you if a problem arises

Absolutely the worst cruise line, Well not quite as bad as Royal. They are together at the bottom of the list. BY FAR. Don't waste your money.
