GAMERS WIN! Sony reverses PSN requirement for Helldivers 2 PC

Sony has officially walked back/ reversed its PSN account requirement for pc players on steam. Less than 48 hours ago as of May 4th, Sony and Playstation sent out an update stating that at the end of the month, all steam users would need to link an exsisting psn account or make a new one to link with the pc platform to continue to play helldivers 2.

While this has been known since the launch of the game, with it being 3 months since the release, this angered many players. So the boycott began. Its gamers vs sony! Now it seems sony is going back on that update. Will you continue to play helldivers 2?

Helldivers 2 is a 2024 cooperative third-person shooter game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is the direct sequel to Helldivers, a 2015 top-down shooter. It was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows on 8 February 2024. It received positive reviews from critics and sold over 8 million units within the first two months of its release.

One thing, it’s a good 95% chance that it was steam who delisted the games, in order to cover their own ass if they didn’t reverse it, because they don’t want to have items available in regions where they can’t even be used

I’m glad they reversed the decision because honestly that was just stupid on their part I do hope they learn to not do that again (but they probably won’t because they’re a corporation focused on money )

Another thing I got from this are the people who are just as pigheaded as Sony are the people who are like “PC players are just throwing a tantrum” like dog that 170 countries that won’t be able to play that’s about 8 million people who I’m sure love this game to bits. And sure there’s a lot of people who aren’t even affected by the change are still complaining, I believe it’s because they see the massive impact it’ll have on the game and they show empathy. Sorry for this rant but fuck! People need to show more compassion for others.

If I’m Sony, I’m not even bothering with PC players after the ridiculous tantrum PC players threw and death threats going to Sony and Arrowhead. Ghost of Tsushima would be it.
