macOS High Sierra and VMware Fusion 10 SSD problem

I was upgrading my hackintosh setup from 10.12 to 10.13 and VMware fusion from 8.5 to 10 and now, after every start of a virtual machine, VMware writes exactly the size of the virtual RAM to my SSD. What is going wrong and why?

Hardware:
Motherboard: MSI-Z270 Gaming Pro
CPU: Intel Core i5-7600k
GPU: Nvidia Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960ti 4GB
RAM: 16GB 2400 Mhz
OS SSD: NVMe Samsung EVO 960 with 500GB
Virtual Machine SSD: SATA SanDisk 960GB
Data HDD: WD Black 2013 or 2014 with 3000GB

Virtual Machine Settings:
CPU: 2 cores
Memory: 6GB
Graphics memory: 1 GB (recommended)
Accelerate 3D Graphics

I'm having the same issue! SO frustrating- now I can only access windows from the imported version-- took a huge chuck and my SSD-- Any fixes?
