It's not even like journalists are good anymore. There's a whole meme about them anyway. People should just ignore journalists and analyze it for themselves or somebody they trust.

I think the lesson that gamers need to learn from XDefiant is to be patient. Since the beginning many of the game’s problems started with impatient gamers. The game had to be launched in a less than ideal state because of impatience ( and let’s be honest, this game’s launch was way better than a lot of other games).

Sentiment towards the game became negative because a lot of people want every issue in the game fixed NOW. Despite the fact that regular patches have undoubtedly improved the state of the game since launch, none of it matters because the problems aren’t 100% fixed so they continue to complain.

Despite what this person seems to think, press DOES impact the success of a game. Usually good press brings greater success and bad press brings failure (and at this point game journalism isn’t even real press because most of the games they hail as great, fail and most of the ones they call failures, succeed).

The words of content creators also matter. Imagine a person who has never played an FPS game and isn’t tuned into news about the genre decided to try out XDefiant after looking into it a bit. If every content creator says the game is bad or dead, do you think that players is going to play XDefiant after hearing that? Of course not.

I just don’t understand why so many people want so badly to see XDefiant fail or why nobody is willing to let the devs cook. These are the same people who complain about COD games feeling rushed, yet they won’t give XDefiant devs the time to make sure everything is done right, all while tolerating the same or worse issues from COD that NEVER get addressed.

Dude, your channel is taking off... congrats! It's going to be interesting to see how XDef does over the next couple of seasons. I played for a few minutes tonight and the lobbies were filling pretty fast. Unfortunately, the toxicity inside of the FPS space continues to impact everything, including social media. That article was released for the purpose of trying to hurt XDef. I think XDef will be fine, we shall see.

A lot of games like this fluctuate with player retention. As someone who only plays on a console, finding time to play through the catalogue of games I have is hard enough, let alone if I had a pc and access to hundreds more options. Some people love to devote themselves to one game for ages, and some like variety.

Cod also retains part of the base due to how long it has been around. It's impossible to believe any game can come and take away from that so easily. I'll be honest about the fact that in the last few years, I haven't enjoyed Cod but I still paid for it because it's always been the most notable FPS, plus the fact that battlefield took a temporary nosedive in quality. Now Xdefiant is what I play when I want to play FPS games.

Funny how what was supposed to be black ops gulf war suddenly became black ops 6 as soon as xdefiant comes out. Also interesting how when the beta for bo6 is out, a journalist claims that xd is doing poorly even though apparently Ubisoft recently revealed they were pleased with the games performance. Wasn't this the same journalist that said that MWII was gonna be a two year game, which got a lot of people to buy the game? Idk something weird is going on

For me XDefiant misses something like Score-/Killstreaks thats what made me grind like every game. Remember BO2 tryinign to reach K9 or Swarm and when you reached it, it felt unbelievably rewarding. Remember those grindy Camos and Calling Cards... wow. I feel like no FPS Shooter really caught me like CoD caught me back then :D

Lets talk real: Mw3 broke the game in every season update (season 1-3). Sometimes game was not playable for more than 8 hours. Accounts got destroyed. Movment issues. Class Editor got ruined. Challenges didnt track... a lot more! And yes they fixed it and yes xdefiant have issues but yes they fix it 😊
So what exactly is the problem now?
And i dont mean you i mean the community that goes againest xdefiant.
But COD is only here for 1 year so if they release a game and work 6 months on it so the game becomes playable and then you have 6 months later again a cod that have issues and takes months to fix 😂 so xdefiant is in a better Position because you dont have to buy another xdefiant after 1 year. You keep your skins .... and all other stuff

Ill take defiant over modern gaming sbmm microtransaction trash any day. But ultimately it doesn't matter what people say, if a game is great it will be fine especially now where gaming is mostly trash. The truth is defiant is not great. Its just fine. The only thing tremendous about it is the acknowledgement of the fails of sbmm. Everything from the title to the strange character concept is sort of a miss. It is overall a step in the right direction. The game is a C but an A in the modern gaming wasteland

yeah no I respectfully disagree, Tom Henderson as far as I know is pretty spot on with is info, so him telling us this isn't dogpilling, its informing consumers of what's going on with the games that we play so now you know that xdefiant is in a bad state, you now are more informed on the state of the game if you choose to support the game good, if you choose not to that's fine too but getting mad at people for releasing what most likely is true information so gamers are more informed on it is just dumb I'm glad i know this because now i wont be buying anything until i know for sure the game will be supported for the long hull, I want Defiant to succeed, but thats up to Xdefiant to succeed not us, Basically xdefiant needs to earn our money/support.

this game was never going to be big to begin with, it had marketing as a cod killer so all the engagement it has was not organic. just a bunch of cod players who wanted to see what it was and then dip. it’s not a good game sorry to say that. it’s lackluster and boring and made by Ubisoft. ubisoft is known for that. and before people cry in comments no i’m not a cod fanboy i haven’t played cod since black ops 4 just stating the truth.
