Gujarati Daal Dhokli!

All you need is :

For Dhokli:
1 cup whole wheat flour, salt to taste, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 2 tsp oil and water as needed.
Dough should be medium soft (like roti). Make sure the rotis you make are big and thin.
We only need to cook them for 30-40 secs on the tawa and then cut into squares.

For Dal:
- 1/2 cup toor dal soak 30 mins and pressure cooked for 3 whistles with 2x water, then blended to puree and add more water if needed)
2 tsp ghee
1 tsp Jeera
1 tsp rai
1/2 tsp Methi seeds
1/2 tsp Hing
6-7 curry leaves
1 green chilli (split)
1 inch ginger (finely chopped)
2-3 cloves
1/2 inch cinnamon (optional)
1 kashmiri red chilli
1/4 cup peanuts
1 tomato (finely chopped)
1 tsp each turmeric powder
coriander powder and red chilli powder, Salt to taste, 1/2 tsp amchoor, 1 tbsp grated/crushed Gud (jaggery), Lime juice to taste & fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped).

Keep stirring Dhokli on a low flame.

First prepare the dal and keep aside. Then prepare the dhokli.

When you're ready to serve, simple give the dal one boil, add the dhokli and cook for 10 mins, serving it hot with some ghee and coriander leaves

In Bihar this is known as dalpithi or dal ki dulhan ❤😊

In Maharashtra we also have the veey similar dish called as varan chakulya and its is made with simple wheat dough minus the spices she putted in the dough it is comforting and hearty just amazing 😋

U missed adding lemon juice at end...or some tamarind pulp while boiling to make it khatti meethi.. Jaggery will be cheery on the cake
