People don't seem to understand how horribly this would actually be on our brain. When you imagine seeing "nothing" do you imagine darkness? Because it's not that. When you lose your vision you don't see darkness. You don't see light. You see literally nothing. Taking away an entire perception is impossible to imagine without going through it. No senses but still being alive is possibly the worst torture I could ever imagine. It's not possible to grasp what that feels like, but its the closest you can get to experience dying while still being alive.
