To clarify: Megatron said his name because thats who he is, He wants everyone to be afraid of him\know who he is

What makes this scene scary is that he says it to the screen, literally looking at the audience and saying “I AM, MEGATRON!

When you're a giant killer robot and there's badass music playing as you wake up from a coma, you do, in fact, say your name in the deepest darkest voice possible.

In the comic book adaptation (and the novel if I'm not mistaken), once Megatron was thawed out, he shouted "You hold me no more, insects! I know what you've done with me! You used me to advance your science only to have your pitiful technology destroy your planet and each other!"

And just before mercilessly incinerating a scientist who just happened to be right in front of him, Megatron shouts: "YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF LIFE!"

If only the writers could have fit those lines in the movie (I know, limited screen time), it would have made this scene even MORE awesome!
