I’m on my 2nd scope. First one out of the box had seriously bad chromatic aberration and was useless above 16X. The replacement is better and useable. Chromatic aberration is on par for this price point and is only really noticeable around the fringes. What got me was the importer had no idea what chromatic aberration is so just replaced it.

I nearly bought one of those, instead I bought a Nikko Sterling Diamond long range 6-24×50, great scope so far, it's mounted on my Howa 223rem ... great video !!!!

Same thing happened with my 6x24-50 IR Vantage, the windage Turret Screws are stripped (Had to replace with M2x6 mm 304 S.S. CSK Bolt), also you'll not be able to Dial Windage when Elevation is down from 75-100%, also if you turn Elevation Turret UP & Windage to Right, at the very end Recticle will stop Moving.

Good eye opener about low cost optics and low cost products in general. By quality and cry only once. Thank you for the heads up and taking the time to do this service. Always find your videos highly informative.

It won't hold zero because because the turrets are not resettable? I called hawke when I bought mine to find out how to float the turret. There not made to reset. I did do lots of dialing on mine for the year and a half used it. It was repeatable but a pain to do also lol.

I think you nailed it. I run 4-6 hawke scopes but the entry level is probably the best they have in my opinion. Above 150 bucks I think they fall off.

Actually you just have to loosen this screws to zero the turrets. But it’s not an overwhelming scope anyway. I’ve got the 4-16x44. It does white out, and, most importantly, it does’t hold zero (and I use it with a PCP air rifle, almost no recoil) and the cross shifts about 1-2 MOA when changing the magnification, not so good for precision shooting.

Odd enough....I would like to see the video of optic's mishaps and misses out the gate. Thanks again for the video. i know they take time and effort.

I have a Hawke vantage 4x ao honestly it's really great for air rifels at under a hundred dollars it can't be beat it's unfortunate that the more expensive scopes aren't that good value for money

Hello! Did you ever get a replacement for this? I have the exact same setup as this, but I haven't zeroed it yet. This has got me worried, if it won't hold zero it's useless. Thanks!

Which one is better? This one or the airmax 4x12x50 ?

I appreciate your honesty. I am by no means a "gear snob" I do buy quite a bit of "budget" optics, and the $225-$250 catagory has become very competitive lately. That said I'm a hard pass on this Hawk offering🤔

You don't know what you are doing to start with. Those are NOT target turret. You have to spend upward of 500 dollars for the scope to do what you are wanting it to. It is a set it and forget it. These scopes have a life time no questions asked warranty. I used a Hawke sidewinder for almost 10 years the perplex went out and they replaced it with a new model of sidewinder no question ask and no money.

I looked into them, i wasn`t impressed.
Lets face it, 200 to 250 dollar scopes are sh!t these days. You`ll find most are Made in China!
When i pick up a scope to look at it, if it says made in CHINA, i hand it right back to the salesman instantly.

Hawk are a british company, they make AIR RIFLE SCOPES . They aren't built for cartridge fire rifles! So instead of shitting all over it how about first you understand what it's intended purpose is and actually use it for that purpose
