An aircraft carrier can stop faster than the Jeep

A Jeep is a great vehicle but you need to swap out the engine, transmission, electrical and suspension first

In America it's called a full eventual stop.

Can confirm as a Jeep owner, scares me any time I have to stop quickly. I also drive tractor-trailers for a living 😅

Audi took brake test, while Jeep took break test.

Now i understand why they call their SUVs trucks

From my understanding the requirements on the brakes to be street legal are very different between in Europe manufactured and sold cars then for American ones. That why Audis have stronger brakes as it’s required to have a car street legal here in Germany

Wow, now I know why the U.S. has a 70 mph limit…and we over here driving 250 km/h every other day with much less traffic accidents

No one talks about the 8.1L supercharged tahoe and suburban that gm made for the Saudi government in the 90’s. I think it was like 750hp and they used factory brakes and suspension. I am sure that was a wild ride

That’s because American vehicles use ASB (Anti-spill brakes) instead of ABS. The former never exceeds the braking force that would cause either of the beverages from the nineteen cupholders to spill. Smart thinking, Jeep!

My daily driving in the US is a 911 Turbo, but I also have an F250 Ford Pickup. Knowing that my breaking distance is about half that of many of the large SUVs and pickups, it never ceases to amaze me how willing drivers are to tailgate me in traffic. So far, several years without an accident, but I know one of these days I’m getting rear ended and my Porsche will never be the same.

The difference is the markets demands on the Manufacturers. In Europe every car gets tested both by the government and the free Motor press. Breaks and the roadholding ability are two highly prioritized test objects.

Brakes are optional, power is more important

Everyone love to hate on American car brakes. But did you know they don't need to slow down, when they do they just crash into something, like a bystander or a lamp post?

Holy shit. The brake fade is insane on that one.
My 07 ram 1500 can atleast jolt me to a stop. That thing was like a chauffeur stop.

In the jeeps defence, it definitely did it's best on the front brakes, the rear came off the floor 😂 seems a suspension issue meant it had less braking force than it should have had.

I'd love to see these against their estate counterpart, i.e. RS6 vs RSQ8, X5 vs M5 and so on, I'd just be interested in the difference in safety

I have done this with every car I have ever owned it driven. I think everybody should. It's important to know your vehicles capabilities. Lives literally depend on it. I don't do it at 100 though. I do it at 60.
