Glasses for Cycling Day and Night

Photochromatic lenses, AKA Transitions lenses, are not just for those with a poor sense of fashion. They offer a solution to the problem of eye protection for long distance cyclists who ride day and night in all kinds of weather. The use case of long distance cycling negates most downsides of photochromatic lenses. They are even available on prescription lenses. Talk to your eye doctor to see if photochromatic lenses are right for your cycling eyewear needs.

Most cycling eyewear brands offer some photochromatic lens option. Some also offer prescription add-ons alongside glasses with photochromatic lenses, but rarely in a single lens. Some eye care shops with in-house lens cutting may be able to make a set of prescription photochromatic lenses for your 2-lens frames, similar to the red/black glasses in the video. The tight curviture of cycling frames may make this impossible with some prescriptions.

Darkening scenes like the creepy pan to the camera are at 6-8X speed. The lightening scene indoors with 돌 하르방 is at 30x speed.

Habe you ever experienced that photochromic lenses will not darken in the noon if its warm like 30-40 degrees celsius? I had this problem on the Three Peaks Bike race in the Provance. But i really like the lenses for day and night cycling. Ride on!

I always rode with my regular prescription (photochromatic) glasses but I just bit the bullet and bought a dedicated cycling pair with a prescription insert... I reckon I ride 5 - 10% faster now ;-)

I'm sorry this might be random, but I don't have another way of messaging you; I'm looking to do the Inchon to Busan Ride and needed some tips on the rote, anyway that I could get some pointers? I'll take all the help I can get.
