I was there in 2013, it’s well worth another visit. The food especially the beef, the good Malbec’s real good wine, go to the Derby, River Plate vs Boca Juniors, go to Iguassu watch all the beautiful falls, that’s in Misioness, go to the Tango shows in Buenos Aires, and finish in Mendoza, visit some of the fine Vineyards.

I've been to two great steakhouses in Buenos Aires and I ordered my steak without saying how I wanted it done (I wasn't asked) and both came back perfectly med rare. Both were amazing steaks.

Don't go here. Most food reviews by Gringos are done with good intentions but since they have no context for what is 'good, ' they tend to follow the crowd and reference what other networks have previously reviewed, creating an unjustified self reinforcement. Don Julio isn't anything special unless you like high prices. My experience was horribly rude service, dirty tables, and meat cooked so far beyond what I ordered that it was nearly inedible. Since I know B.A. quite well I can say with 100% confidence that any neighborhood place can exceed Don Julio in every way at a fraction of the price, unless you like paying for status and hype. This is not where 'normal Argentines' eat. On the contrary, you will be surrounded by Gringos thinking they are having an authentic experience while they take your money and feed you substandard dishes. Go elsewhere.

I have to say as an Argentinian we do not eat meat well done; it depends on the kind of meat and cut. We eat everything you could imagine really

I love how this woman acts like she knows Pablo and the story of Don Julio, then proceeds to get half of the story wrong. The vast majority of people are eating their steaks medium rare, but hey, at least she got a decent bottle of wine

Yeah most Argentine steaks are well done unless you ask them to cook it medium rare. I'm fine either way as both ways are delicious.

Full of wrong statements. Portobello's, mollejas, Palermo as the best place to find meat, no.
