Great comparison! Good to know about the space inside! Being 6ft 5, I know your struggles!!

i havent bought any yet but ive decided to go for the ultraligh bobcat, as i already have this syle of tent (not an ultalight one) and would like to try somthing diffrent as well as i think the bobcat ul will be less irritating in the wind lol

Think I’d rather have the heavyweight one, extra space more worth it than an extra 500g or so! Lake District here I come 🤞🏻

As a 61 year old easoned wild camper, the colour is an important issue for me. So any weight/size advantages by the new version is cancelled out due to the colour. Had the new version been green, I definitely would choose that one..

Comparing to those, for the weight, Id pick my Durston xmid1 (solid for uk). If not using walking poles, the z-flick poles pair (or gram counter's version) adds another 180gr, still on the light weight side offering great protection from the elements. The footprint being 40cm or so bigger that the usual 1-man tents can be a right PITA (though there are space saving set ups), or a blessing.
Though yes, by time tent cost, zflick poles and taxes are paid its around 2x the phoxx ultralight's price. Still, option for lightweight camping.

Id climb Tryfan North Face, and then set up camp near Llyn Bochlwyd 👌

Id probably take the OEX phoxx 1 v2 over the ultralight. Wanna take it to the lake district, and if it rains I'm gonna want a bit more moisture resistance

Planning a trip with the lads next July for a 3 day hike and wild camp, to my disgrace I have the oex phoxx 1 v1 which has never left it's bag nor seen the sky yet, since purchased years ago, have you ever tested that one and if so how does it compare to the v2?

I would be taking this straight to helvellyn with my dad and his kit was our first hike

Hello. The 10 denier nylon used for the flysheet is just too thin and flimsy, especially as this is the same material used for the groundsheet, that's just silly! You'll definitely need a footprint with the ultra lightweight version, so this makes it heavier. It looks flappy even in light winds, the headroom isn't high enough, it has hardly any vestibule space, crap really.

Im thinking of buying a stealth tent but is it still comfy without headspace?

Oh man I’d love to win the Phoxx 1 OG, I’d take my little lad out for some semi wild camping to start with and then work up to some wild camps!
