NORTHSEAKAYAK - P&H Valkyrie Fast Sea Kayak

I’m a hardened P&H fan and would lie to you if I said I waited patiently for a true P&H fast sea kayak. I was like a kid waiting for his new toy to come, and I was excited when P&H finally announced that they would produce the very first polyethylene sea kayak. I hear some of you thinking, there is nothing new about a fast sea kayak anymore… but still P&H managed (as always) to create something that distinguishes from others. It’s a very specific boat I can tell you! A full review will be published very soon!!

It looks to be a narrow and fast boat. It appears to have less rocker than other P&H models and must track straighter. I see hard chines for good secondary stability. The hull appears almost flat and may not have as much primary stability. The lower back deck should make back-deck rolls easier, and the high front deck probably make it easier to get in and out of. I'm curious to hear how it really handled.

Still one of favourite videos on YouTube 😊 I see you remount it from the back and then sit inside and then bring your legs in. Is it easy or do you need to be flexible? I just got a Current Designs Squall and it is my first sea kayak where I need to slide my legs inside first because the cockpit is too narrow.

Very nice video, both subject and the production!

I only had a very short time in the valkyrie on flat water near the factory but I had been paddling my K1 a short time before and the valkyrie felt very fast and easy for a sea boat - usually sea boats feel like barges after paddling an 8kg race kayak - it also turned very predicably.

Maybe I should go back and try it on the sea?
