The fact that Rothstein still had the class to tip the dealer even after unraveling just a bit to sink to bullying an innocent working man - a very unpolite showing from a ”polite” mob boss - means that even though Rothstein was humbled pretty badly here by Nucky for acting disrespectfully towards him (or was it all an aspect of the contest?) he managed to retain his composure pretty well.

The aborted Arnold Rothstein storyline was one of the real tragedies of Boardwalk Empire's rushed demise. We missed out on that along with the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, the Wall Street Crash and everything else in a frenzied climax to the Roaring 20's. If it had at least led to a satisfying conclusion I could accept it but such a terrible end to such a great beginning.

Seriously I love this series, I do think there are storylines that did not live up to their full potential. But I love the scenic design and the acting is soooo much better than the long range writing. And I will always regret the leap they made at season 5 and how Rothstein had just vanished.
