Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon are the first set of Generation VII Pokémon games, coming for the Nintendo 3DS worldwide in 2016. Not much is known about these games yet, but they will come worldwide in 2016 and contain the addition of Chinese to the languages

In addition to this, there's the capability of receiving data from Pokémon Red, Green, Blue & Yellow through Pokémon Bank into this game.

The game is to be set in the Alola Region, where there are numerous New Pokémon. It contains various improved graphical mechanics, as well as the return of trainer customisation.

If Mega-Rayquaza would be able to use a Z-move, he'd probably be banned from Anything Goes Tier...

I'm just sad we don't see our character use the mega ring like in x and y

Mega Rayquaza is already banned from Ubers, if it used a Z move, that would be broken XD

austin i need to see this

have a ditto and battle a friend with rayquaza

have ditto hold a z crystal of the type that coresponds to dragon asent or any other move

i saw in a battle that ditto can transform into a mega evolved pokemon

since mega evolution always happen first before any attack all u need to do is have mega rayquaza use a move that does not do damage and have ditto transform

after that hope and pray it

1.transforms into MEGA rayquaza and

2.can use a z move

i need to see this happen plz do this

You can use a z move for mega pokemon. You can use oranguru's z instruct to make the mega pokemon's next move a z move.

Wait.... you missed one little thing!!!
Can you mega evolve AFTER using the Z-move?

Would it be busted to have mega rayquaza use a z move? No, at least not any more busted than mega rayquaza already is.

do a doubles with Rayquaza. have an ally hold sky z and switch items with Rayquaza after he mega evolves?

Raquaza would kill our 3DS's because of the power of the mega evolution Z-move!

A little late but I hopped onto Pokemon Showdown and the Damage Calc says this
252 Atk Rayquaza-Mega Supersonic Skystrike (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Shuckle: 169-199 (69.2 - 81.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Rayquaza-Mega Supersonic Skystrike (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Mewtwo-Mega-X: 626-740 (150.4 - 177.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Rayquaza-Mega Supersonic Skystrike (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Multiscale Lugia: 118-140 (28.3 - 33.6%) -- 0.2% chance to 3HKO
This was all with a Neutral nature
lol this one just for fun
+6 252+ Atk Rayquaza-Mega Supersonic Skystrike (190 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Combee on a critical hit: *11400-13412 (5671.6 - 6672.6%)* -- guaranteed OHKO

this is only an idea for making mega rayquaza use a z move, although it might not work.

Enter a double battle, and have rayquaza hold nothing, and have a second pokemon hold the flyinium z. then mega evolve rayquaza, and then let the other pokémon use trick ( or any other move that switches items). You know what to do next.

Spoiler on the result of this video:

Sadly mega rayquaza can't use z moves. BUT here's the thing. I modified the game rom so that I can make a z-crystal act as a mega stone for Mimikyu. I was able to Mega Mimikyu but only after I used the z move first. It seems they specifically coded Rayquaza to never be able to mega evo even though technically he should because after I used the z-move the option to mega evo never appeared but with Mimikyu I could mega evo after a z move was used.

Z-Moves seems to take priority, so my hacked mega couldn't mega until after the z-move was used on it (or the a z-move was used on a different mon which would make z-moves unavailable for the duration of the battle).

So yeah Mega Rayquaza not being able to use z-moves seems like they intentionally prevented in the game.

The developers of the game didn't think mega evolution with Z-crystals would be possible since every other pokemon that does mega evolve needs to hold a mega stone, meaning they wouldn't have a spot for a z-crystal. So instead of reworking rayray just for this they put z-move priotiy over mega evolution. So that's why you don't get a second option to mega evolve and always have the selection for a z-move in battle. Hopefully this helps out big fan by the way love all your videos :3

Rayquaza already One Hits nearly everything so it doesn't really matter

I have an idea: try to get into a 2v2 battle give a z crystal to your second pokemon and try to get rayquaza to learn thief or switcheroo. In the battle mega evolve rayquaza and then have him use thief on your second pokemon to hold the z crystal then use it on the next turn

The third gen 8 game could be the following: pokemon bow, pokemon gun, pokemon bazooka, pokemon nuke, pokemon hammer, pokemon bug spray, pokemon run away.

Well I mean... they let Ultra Necrozma do it so why not Mega Rayquaza?

Z-moves are pretty overpowering, but I think the reason for z-moves taking priority is because both meg-evos and z-moves are one time use in a battle only and being able to use both at once would be too broken
