Motorhead's Lemmy was 'non apologetic & honest' - BBC News

Rock Author Joel McIver who wrote about Lemmy and his band in his book Overkill: The untold story of Motorhead spoke to BBC's Philippa Thomas.

Lemmy was one of the best people I've ever known. Intelligent, no ego, and once you got to know him you could see past the personna of the rock Icon. He was a big fan of WWll history, which in one aspect we shared. I was fortunate to work with Motorhead several times during tours, and one of my greatest memories was trying to keep up with him drinking. That was a hard prospect! R.I.P, Lemmy, you are gone but never forgotten...

Lemmy was a very intelligent man. He could talk for ages about history. A guy who was a lot more than a heavy rock singer. There was so much more to him. He lived his life how he wanted to, and took no bullshit from anyone.
