A little trick for remembering the TIA568 A and B wiring layouts:

1.) Odd numbers are stripes (Colour & white) & Even numbers are solid (Colour)
2.) A is for Apples and are green, therefore; T568A starts with green.
3.) Blue become before brown alphabetically as well as in the wiring layout.

Not sure why but the above has helped me remember the layouts for the last year or so :)

First week of CompTIA Network+ N10-008 and as English is not my main languange - I struggle alittle sometimes just reading the CompTIA ebook and i must say your videos are the light at end of the tunnel for my vision of finishing the course succesfully.
THANK YOU!!!

Listen up fry cooks, I'm about to reveal the Krusty Krab's secret formula for our T568A and T568B krabby patties. Do not tell a single soul outside of this establishment. Both krabby patties contain four pairs of ingredients: two green arugula leaves, two orange hamburger buns, two blueberries, and two brown beef patties. As a result, each krabby patty has 8 layers.

The ingredients in odd layers are chopped up (striped colors with white) and ingredients in even layers are whole pieces (solid colors). Both recipes have two things in common: blueberries always go in the middle and beef patties always at the bottom.

T568A: The A stands for Arugula first. Underneath the arugula (greens) comes the first bun (orange) with blueberries (blues) sandwiched in between the second bun (orange). The beef patties go at the very bottom (browns).

T568B: The B stands for Buns first. Underneath the buns (oranges) come a leaf of arugula (green) with blueberries (blues) sandwiched in between the second arugula leaf (green). The beef patties go at the very bottom (browns).

That's all there is to know. Now go and make me some money!

I created a mnemonic phrase to remember the layouts : Agree with G. Orwell's blatantly bleak work or break with brio.
A- : T568A
-GRee With : green white
G. : Green
OR-Well's : ORange White
BLatantly : BLue
BLeak Work : BLue White
OR : ORange
BReak With : BRown White
BRio : BRown

Then you just have to remember that green turns to orange for T568B.
A little convoluted but it sticks in my head for now, maybe it can help some of you too !

T568A/Apple/Apples are green so first wire starts with green, T568B/Blood Orange/Blood oranges are orange, so first wire begins with orange.

for t568 a - above is all green - pin 1/2 green/green white
for t568 b - boo - before orange over - pin 1/2 orange white/orange

No need to remember all of them. Just find the difference. T568A and T568B are the same except they switch the greens with oranges in "lanes" 1, 2 and 3, 6.

The similarities are:
* There's only 4 colors (not counting the white on the stripes): Green, Orange, Blue and Brown. "GOBB"
* 4, 5 or middle two lanes are always blue. 7, 8 or last two lanes are always brown.
"Mid blue" "Last brown"
* white stripes on odd numbers, or every other lane starting from top or left.

The difference:
*Green before Orange as A before B.
*You can infer where they go if you remember where blue and brown always go.

Making it more complex hasn't helped me personally, but everyone's memories work differently, so do what's best for you.

Here's my trick to remembering standards:
"(G)reen before (O)range in the alphabet (Which distinguishes between Green first for A and Orange first for B).

Stripes before solid except for blue.

If I just got the TIA568 pinouts tattooed onto my wrist surely they couldn't disqualify me for that right? :')

Professor Messer. Love the presentation, but your chart at 2:10 shows that Cat5 is 1000 Base-T when it should say 100 BASE-T. Probably just a typo but, if it comes up on the exam, looking for the test-taker to identify a way to troubleshoot why they're only getting 100 Mbps on a line when they're using Cat 5, this is not going to help them differentiate between 5 and 5e. I hope you can fix this for future viewers! Thanks again for the awesome content!
