It means that your not spotting correctly. It happens to everyone that as you turn you lose your spot. Just try to find a way to whip your head around throughout the chaines, like counting 1, 2, 3 and spotting on the count. If you get dizzy and feel like you can't see, you lost your spot.

Why would you teach these AFTER piques?  Piques might be a little slower, but they require the strong foundation that chaines provide in order to be fluid.
