Arrived at the Opera house about 8am that morning and claimed our spot about 10mtrs in front of Phils mike, they came on about 10am and did a 1/2-3/4 hr sound check (huge bonus!!)...Waa Koo (you're such a fabulous dancer) was the warm up band, Thin Lizzy came on round 3 or 4pm i think and blew the fkn place apart.... first 2SM Rocktober fest 1978 if i recall, 66yrs old now and the sun begins set, but still one of the best concerts I've ever experienced and it feels like I was there yesterday ....RIP Phil !!!

Thin Lizzy: So underrated. Testosterone-driven, in your face guitar-based rock. Killer hooks, catchy riffs and true innovators of double-lead guitars. Even today, I can't help but wonder what Phil and Scott could've achieved had they not got caught in the grip of addiction.

Mark Nauseef on drums!
He played in Elf (1975), The Ian Gillan Band (1975-'78), and Gary Moore's G-Force (1979-'81).

Most under rated Band of all time...as is Phil the most under rated genius of all Rock and Roll history.

Thin Lizzy were what R & R is all about! Great songs and vicious guitar 🎸 What a great band! 😊

I was there, all of about 10 years old. Very, very loud show. Lizzy were so polished and professional, they absolutely blew everyone away. Gary was really on fire, you could sense the pent up energy and aggression in his playing. After the show, it was like everyone was standing with mouths open in awe, thinking "we have to collectively raise our game".

Although this isn't the classic Lizzy lineup, it is still smoking! Scott Gorham and Gary Moore are killing it, as is the substitute drummer.

Listen to that fuckin' bass tone. After listening and watching Lynott play, how could any future Irish bass player not use a pick

Unbelievable times! I was in it....I had such a luck, to be born in 1959. I knew it all, all the phantastisc bands! I was young. Thank you god❤

This was the best lineup of the band for me. Scott & Gary were locked in!
